HolliChrist

Meet this month’s AOTM…Holli Christ!  Holli has been a member at CFP since February and is a regular at the 6am class.  She is always willing to work hard and is not afraid to put in the extra credit after class. It definitely pays off, because she has a permanent spot at the top of the whiteboard.  She is also a busy mom of two boys who always makes time to get to the box!

We asked Holli a few questions about herself and here is what she had to say…

  1. Tell us about yourself in a few sentences

I am a native of Northern Indiana, ran cross country in high school and college and from there always did some type of workout to stay in shape.  About 4 years ago I found Crossfit accidently when I won a silent auction for some 10 session workout for $20.  After my first session I was hooked and never looked back, I was addicted.

I have been married to my husband, Andy almost 18 years.  He is the best supportive spouse I could ever ask for between my career, Crossfit, being soccer mom, and wife.   We have two boys, Wyatt (10) and Dalton (8), who love playing soccer and sometimes working out with me.  My family and I moved down to Fort Mill 2 years ago for my job as an IT Analyst.  I found CFP back in February when I did a few of the Open workouts here. I found it was great fit for me. Now I am a regular at the 6am class but sometimes I will pop into the evening class because it fits my schedule better for the day but also for the opportunity to meet other people at the gym.

  1. What do you hope to achieve through CrossFit?

Crossfit keeps me mentally ready for the stress of my job and life in general. When I miss working out for a few days I become restless and oh maybe moody. I love Crossfit because it keeps me in shape and mentally ready for what life throws my way. Also, I love helping and encouraging others achieve their Crossfit goals. 3. What is your favorite CF exercise?

I would have to say my favorite exercises are body weight exercises, especially Burpees. They are easy for me.

  1. What CF exercise do you least like?

My least favorite movement are double-unders. I don’t like them and they don’t like me.

  1. What would you tell someone considering trying CFP?

Pineville is very welcoming community of people. You walk in the door and someone is going to look up and wave or come over and say Hi, I never feel out of place. CFP makes you feel like you are good enough even when you don’t feel like it. Everything can be scaled and there is no judgment, just cheering you on for trying. CFP is very organized and the coaches are great. One of my favorite thing about the coaches is you can tell they want to be there even at 6am in the morning. Come give it a try.

Holli, we are so glad you have decided to make CFP your home.  You are a kind and encouraging person!  Keep up all of your hard work!
