October’s Coach Highlight is Kelly!
Kelly is originally a Florida girl, but has been in Charlotte over 5 years now! Her twin brother (no, they’re not identical 😉 ) talked her into trying out CrossFit & the rest is history! Kelly trained at another gym for about 2 years before meeting Warren & discovering CFP!
Kelly is an awesome coach, ready to give feedback on how an athlete’s moving, cheering on the class during a grueling WOD and helping people realize they’re stronger than they think! Get to know Kelly a little better below…
Kelly’s Coach Profile
1. Tell us a little about yourself. I was imported to Charlotte from Florida in Spring 2010. I work in Sales with Siemens Energy. I love making new friends, eating good food, and traveling.
2. How did you get into CrossFit & why do you like coaching? My twin bro started it years ago and I followed suit. Did my first intro class in Fall 2011 and was immediately hooked. I love the community, variety and competition aspects. I had never touched a barbell prior to starting Crossfit and was so intimidated. Which leads to why I like coaching: I enjoy making people feel comfortable and strong and talented, because all of our athletes are superstars.
3. What is your favorite CF exercise? Least favorite? Favorite: anything with a barbell. Back squats, cleans and thrusters. Least: wallballs. When you’re 5’2″, they essentially become spicy weighted jump squats for time.
4. What would you tell someone considering trying CFP? Dooooooo ittttt! You’ll make lifelong friends, build a strong body and mind, and have an absolute blast while you’re at it.
