Our March Coach Highlight is Coach Warren!

Warren

By day, Warren is a Physical Therapist and in some of his free time he’s a CrossFit/RISE coach!  Warren partnered with Michelle and Brandon to open CFP back in 2013 and developed our RISE program in late 2014.  He is passionate about helping people move well and move often!

When he’s not helping people move better and achieve their health goals, he can be found hanging out with his girlfriend Kelly, playing with their adorable puppy, Nala or spending time with his friends and family.  We’re so glad to have you as a forever part of CFP, Warren!  Keep up all your hard work, the best is yet to come!

Warren’s Coach Profile

  1. Tell us a little about yourself.  I have always loved sports, exercise, and fitness from the time I was very young.  I was fairly certain at the age of 10 that I was going to play in the NFL.  By the age of 14 I figured out that the NFL was not really in the plans, and figured out that I really loved all forms of physical activity and especially physical therapy.  For the last 16 years I have dedicated my life to learning as much as I can about the human body and how it works.  I have a passion for helping people of all different fitness levels achieve their goals.  On any particular day I may help 75 year old man regain his ability to walk, a 60 year old grandmother to be able to play with her grandchildren, a 40 year old weekend warrior be able to complete his spartan race, and a 15 year old swimmer keep from dislocating her shoulder all within a few hours.  I love to apply the knowledge that I have gained from the classroom,  continuing education, and in the trenches to help me be the best physical therapist and trainer that I can be.  It is very rewarding to be a small part in helping others better their life through physical activity and fitness.
  2. How did you get into CrossFit & why do you like coaching?  I started hearing about CrossFit around 2008-09.  After college I started working out with a friend of mine pretty regularly in parks and in his driveway.  We would make up a lot of our own workouts and follow some off of the CrossFit Main Site.  Over the years I would visit several CrossFit boxes and always loved the atmosphere.  In 2012 I became a member and helped Coach at CrossFit Huntersville and have been coaching since.  CoachingCrossFit is fun in a lot of ways.  There are so many progressions in every single movement that it really can be scaled for any individual.  I believe it does take a lot of skill to make each and every person as safe as possible while still delivering results, and I enjoy that challenge.
  3. What is your favorite CF exercise?  Least favorite?  The Turkish Get Up  and Handstand Walks are probably my favorite.  There aren’t any movements that I really dislike other than anything that is really high rep.
  4. What would you tell someone considering trying CrossFit/CFP?  CrossFit Pineville is a great place to check out CrossFit.  The staff is very well trained to work with individuals of all different fitness levels.  The environment is always FUN, SAFE, and EFFECTIVE!
