All shake.  No hype.

When most people hear protein shakes, they think of building muscle and not fat loss.  They think of big body builders and are immediately turned off since they don’t want to “bulk up” or look like that.  When they hear meal replacement shakes, most think of crap shakes like slimfast full of fake ingredients.

Well here’s the skinny straight from Dr. Spencer – “Instead of ADDING a shake or two in addition to your daily meals, you actually REPLACE a meal (or two) with a shake.  By doing this, you automatically lower your calorie intake while likely increasing your protein intake in one of the most convenient ways possible. This is a recipe for fat loss.

  • Studies show that drinking meal replacement shakes are one of the best predictors of weight loss success.
  • The ease and convenience a shake provides for our hectic, busy lives shouldn’t be overlooked!
  • Make sure you’re using a good quality protein – 3rd party tested!!  Whey protein with about 30g per serving.
  • Replace 1-2 meals a day, along with healthy snack and other meal options.

The bottom line…If you have the time and CAN make low-calorie whole food meals for all of your meals, then do just that.  No need for protein shakes.  However, for most of us, with our busy schedules and life in the way, subbing protein shakes as your meals would be a good option.
