Mmmm Bacon!! Who doesn’t love bacon?!? Pretty much everyone, and with this recipe for Smoky Candied Bacon from PaleOMG, you can do. no. wrong!! It’s simple to make and will add a flavor punch to top your burger, alongside your breakfast eggs or even in a lettuce wrap with some deli turkey or chicken salad. You could even have a few pieces as a snack! YUM! Definitely make some ASAP!
Smoky Candied Bacon
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
- ¼ c maple or coconut sugar
- ¼ tsp smoked paprika
- ¼ tsp cayenne pepper
- pinch of salt
- ¾ lb thick cut bacon
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- In a large bowl, add the maple syrup, maple sugar, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper and salt and mix till well combined.
- Add the bacon to the bowl and toss to coat on all sides.
- Place the bacon onto the wire rack on top of a foil line baking sheet (single layer, not overlapping).
- Bake in oven for about 25-35 minutes. Make sure the bacon is almost crispy (it will harden up outside the oven as well).
- Remove from the oven and cool for 5 minutes on the rack.
- Once cool enough to handle, serve as desired!
