Scaling is a beautiful thing!  It ensures that each and every athlete is able to preserve the stimulus of the workout!  Ben Bergeron shared this on his Instagram several days ago and we figured it was worth sharing…

“A dude with a 1rm thruster of 115 and a pull up PR of 4 unbroken, COULD do “Fran” as prescribed, but it would take him 40 mins.  That’s not the desired stimulus of Fran.  The goal is NOT to do workouts as RX’d. The goal is to get the appropriate stimulus everyday, work on mechanics and consistency, then layer in intensity to the point they are training at their Threshold.  This is how the magic happens.”

Sure, it feels good to click the RX button, and it may even be a personal goal for some to eventually click it or perform more workouts RX.  But really, if your goal is to keep on improving, keep getting more fit, hitting PR’s…then listen to Ben!  Stop chasing the RX button, listen to your coaches, and try to preserve the stimulus!  We’re here to guide you each and every workout, we’ll always tell you a projected amount of rounds or time for completion, and give you a variety of scaling options.

Preserve the stimulus…after all, it’s where the magic happens!!
