eggs

Are you discriminatory when it comes to your eggs?  Do you buy the white eggs that are cheaper?  Or the brown eggs because they’re more expensive, so they must be more healthy, right?

Well…here’s the truth, I have been duped!  The CrossFit Journal recently released an article – Eggucation – explaining the difference between all the kinds of eggs.  White, brown, cage-free, free range, organic, pasture raised, etc.

When it comes to color, turns out, white eggs and brown eggs are THE SAME!  The only difference is the color of the chicken!  White feathered chickens lay white eggs, dark feathered chickens lay brown eggs.  However, dark feathered chickens are bigger and require more feed, thus costing more.  Nutritional content is the same!

Where you put your money is up to you, as there is some difference in cage free, free range, pasture raised & organic.  So read up and decide for yourself.  But if pasture raised and organic are out of the budget, try to find cage free or the cheapest there is!

Hope you feel a little more eggucated 😉
