What is CrossFit Foundations?

Foundations Explained

CrossFit Philosophy — CrossFit is more than just a workout, it can change your life if you let it. CrossFit is a lifestyle characterized by safe, effective exercise and sound nutrition. It can help you accomplish any goal, from improved health to weight loss to better performance.

Overview

At CFP, one of our main goals is to provide quality coaching to every member, each time they’re in the box. We strive to ensure that each member, whether they have been CrossFitting for 5 years or 5 weeks, receives coaching, feedback, and instruction on a daily basis.

In order to prepare new CrossFit members for group classes and to ensure our quality of coaching is maintained, we ask members that are new to CrossFit to take 3 Foundations Classes before joining our regular classes. Our Foundations classes are 1-on-1 with a coach and are designed to acclimate each individual to the fundamental movements and concepts of CrossFit, teach the barbell lifts and ready athletes for participation in our regular CrossFit classes.

What to Expect?

Foundation Classes

Prerequisites:
None. For all those new to CrossFit, this is where you start.

New members will schedule their 3 one-on-one Foundations Classes after their free trial class! We aim to fit these classes into your schedule so you can complete your 3 Foundations classes within a week’s time as we know most new members are eager to begin regular classes. All 3 classes must be completed prior to joining regularly scheduled group classes.

Once you are participating in regular classes, coaches will continue to help new athletes modify movements, scale workouts and guide each athlete as needed and necessary in order to receive the maximum benefits for their current fitness level. We know some athletes may benefit from a more individualized, extensive series of Foundations Classes. If this is needed, we are happy to set this up on a personalized basis.
