Welcome to Week 6 of our 8 week long Wellness Wednesday series – Healthy for the Holidays!  We have just a few weeks left in our 8 week series and just a few more tips for you!  Hopefully you’re finding this Holiday season to have more balance so far!

This week’s tip….drink up!  Water that is, make sure you’re drinking plenty of water & staying well hydrated!!

It’s pretty common knowledge that water is essential, but maybe a little less common knowledge that often times when you think you’re hungry, you’re probably just thirsty.  A good tip is when you think you’re hungry or having a craving, drink some water, wait 20-30 minutes to see if you’re still hungry.

During the holiday season it’s extra important to make sure you’re drinking enough.  The weather is usually turning a little colder, so water consumption tends to go down (this is definitely true for me!). By staying hydrated: digestion stays regulated, combat fatigue (pretty common around the holidays!), slow weight gain and the aging process!

Going into a holiday party, the big meal, the neighborhood cookie exchange, if you’re hydrated you’re much less likely to overeat or over drink.  And if you do over drink, you won’t have near as bad a hangover since you were hydrated 😉

Ok, but in all seriousness, drink your water!  It’ll pay off!!
