You know that feeling…the one where it feels like everyone on the whiteboard is getting those precious gold stars but you? We have all been there. When we know we have put in the work but you just can’t seem to PR your lift or metcon.
As we enter into our next mesocycle, I felt like it was a great time to share this article with you guys. The article explains three possible ways in which you might actually be getting a PR. Just because you didn’t lift any heavier, doesn’t mean you didn’t improve. Were you able to do more reps at that weight (are you more consistent there) or did your form or technique look much better this time around?
I know we all love those pretty gold stars on the board, but getting better and stronger doesn’t just come from doing a little more weight each time. Consistency and technique are both major standards to which we should judge our progress.
